After studying German literature in Tokyo and in Cologne she started working as a freelance translator with a main focus on contemporary authors and children’s literature. She participated in the Merck Social Translating Project 2019 by Goethe-Institute Korea. In 2021 she was awarded the 7th Best Translation Award for her translation of Judith Schalansky's “An Inventory of Losses”. She lives in Yokohama/Japan.
