Yvonne Martens was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, and raised in Germany. She studied German Studies, specializing in children's and young adult literature, in Frankfurt am Main, and Romance Studies, specializing in French literature and language. Since 2000, she has worked with the Frankfurt Book Fair in sales, focusing on Asia, Africa, the Arab world, children's and young adult literature, stationery and gifts, self-publishing, and fantasy. In 2024, she established the New Adult section in Hall 1.2. From 2005 to 2006, Yvonne spent time abroad in Singapore during parental leave.
